TRIANGLE AREA SUZUKI TALENT EDUCATION (T.A.S.T.E.) began in the fall of 2011 when three teachers, Wilinda Atchley, Joey O’Donnell and Georgia Schmidt organized a new Suzuki program for the Triangle area. Their goal was to give top-quality Suzuki training to students and families, striving to equal the highest quality across the nation. In the fall of 2013 a new faculty member was added, Erika Atchley. We added two cello teachers, Rosalind Leavell in 2014, and her sister, Erica Leavell in 2016. The program has more than 130 years of teaching experience among the five teachers.

T.A.S.T.E. offers training in violin, viola, and cello, with weekly private lessons, twice a month group lessons, monthly solo recitals, plus numerous concerts at White Memorial Presbyterian Church and in the community. We welcome observers and we require four observations of private lessons in order to register for lessons. You are cordially invited to attend our concerts and recitals.

Testimonials

Suzuki group classes have been a critical part of my daughter’s violin learning journey. Thanks to Wilinda’s masterful instruction, Meirav got over her fear/dislike of playing in front of groups, learns many new practice techniques, has the joy of making music with others, and best of all— has fun! I cannot recommend highly enough the value of a group experience in the Suzuki process.

Our teacher is outstanding. Her love for the violin and for teaching my child is marvelous. It breeds excitement in learning, and makes me want to take lessons too!
